Baby James died at just three days old. His parents were heartbroken. During labour, the midwife couldn’t find his heartbeat. After an emergency c-section, they learned that James had a blood clot in his umbilical cord. James had a permanent brain injury and died just three days later.

“The counselling and support from Red Nose has helped me find ways to live with my grief, accept that it will be ongoing and fluctuating, and acknowledge that it is okay to not be okay,” James’ mum Sarah shared.

James’ memory is kept alive in everything his family do. They celebrate his memory by lighting a candle each night, holding picnics on his birthday, and running fundraisers in his name. The photo accompanying this story features James’ brother Jack and sister Ella Marie holding his photo for Red Nose Day.

Please join Red Nose Day to help save little lives and ensure there is always free support available for families in need.
