For Henry – Walking to Remember, Walking to Save Lives
In loving memory of our beautiful son Henry, who passed away suddenly in April, I’m walking 3km every day this August for the Red, Set, Go Challenge with Red Nose Australia.
Henry was full of life – he loved being outdoors, riding his trike, climbing, running, and playing hide and seek. His cheeky smile and giggle lit up our world. Losing him has broken me in a way I didn’t know was possible.
We made a promise to Henry to go outside every day. While grief has made that promise hard to keep, with the days feeling impossibly heavy, this walk is my way of trying — to honour him, feel close to him, and find some purpose in the pain.
Every day in Australia, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly. We are now one of those families. I walk for Henry — and for every parent facing this unimaginable heartbreak.
