I’m fundraising to save little lives this August! In honour of Leeroy James and Talia Joy

Leeroy was born on 9th February 2020 at 17 weeks and 5 days, he gave a presence which left a lasting imprint on my heart. Though my time carrying him was short, he brought with him a depth of love and hope that will never be forgotten. My precious little fella—I love and miss you forever.

After finding out the news on 7th February 2020 that Leeroy no longer had a heartbeat, I felt an overwhelming sense of protection. As long as I was carrying him there was nothing in this world that could hurt him. He was brought into the world 2 days later.
After his birth I plunged into a dark state of post-natal depression. I carried it well but inside I was dying. I also had my 3 older children to care for and without the support of those around me and the professional support I received, I have no idea where I'd be today.
This August I'm ready to give back to organisations who can professionally help families who lose a child. Together with my beautiful best friend Sammy, who lost her daughter Talia Joy, we are aiming to raise $3,000 in the month of August.
My goal is to walk or run 3km each day.
Any donation is greatly appreciated. Every dollar goes towards supporting families who have lost a child.

My Updates

14/8 - two weeks in

Thursday 14th Aug
We’re almost half way through August!
I’ve slowed down on the running because I have injured myself - osteo treatment and back to walking for at least a week.

After Leeroy was born I pushed my body to exercise too hard. I punished myself by exhausting my body, maybe to quieten my mind.

5 years on I can recognise that I need to slow down and take care of myself. So the next week I’ll be a bit gentler on those legs so I can keep reaching those goals 🧡🦋

In loving memory of Leeroy James
