gurwarra gudha’s – “Save Babies”

Our team name, gurwarra gudha’s, means “Save Babies” in Wiradyuri.

Every day, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia. Some families only get minutes or days with their precious little ones, while others never get to see their child take their first breath. The heartbreak is unimaginable.

This cause is deeply personal to me. During one of the hardest times in my life, I turned to the Red Nose counselling service, and their compassion, understanding and support helped carry me through a time of overwhelming grief. I’ll never forget the kindness they showed me when I needed it most.

That’s why our team is taking on the Red, Set, Go Challenge this August. We want to help ensure that every family facing the loss of a baby or child has access to the same incredible support, while also helping Red Nose continue their life-saving research and education to reduce the number of babies and children lost.
