I’m fundraising to save little lives this August!

Every day, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia.

Some families only get minutes or days with their precious little ones. Others never get to see their child take their first breath.

I want to support parents that have experienced this unimaginable heartbreak, and raise funds to help save little lives – that’s why I’m taking on the Red, Set, Go Challenge this August!

Donate to my fundraiser now and you’ll help fund vital research that will save little lives – and provide counselling and support to families that have experienced the devastation of losing a precious baby or child.

I hope you’ll support me with a kind donation today, and help make the world a bright place for the little lives and their families that need it most.

My Updates

Day 2...

Sunday 3rd Aug
It started as a pretty dreary today today and I wasn’t keen for a second day walking in the rain so expected I’d be looking for a treadmill… thankfully the sun came out! Humphrey and I took a leisurely stroll around the racecourse and despite the chilly wind, clocked up 3km for day 2. 🐶🌞

Day 1…

Friday 1st Aug
We walked along the Jetty Foreshores until it started absolutely pouring rain. ☔️ By the time we got back to the car we were soaking wet little ducks! I cried a couple of times today, so it was nice to have a laugh walking in the rain with Brendan for our girls.

World IVF Day

Friday 25th Jul

July 25th is World IVF Day.

We first met Dr Kee Ong in March 2023. I had surgery in June, finally confirming endometriosis after years of infertility and our first pregnancy ending in miscarriage in April 2022.

In August 2023, we started IVF. What a ride that first cycle was - within a week I started hysterically crying in a patient bathroom with zero ability to explain why and got sent home where I had to literally sedate myself. The injections, the blood tests, scans and appointments were insane, but our first egg collection, Dr Kee retrieved seven eggs… by day five, we were down to two embryos that were genetically tested and frozen.

Early November our second cycle only resulted in two eggs - neither fertilised and that was crushing. We went ahead and transferred our first embryo in November 2023 as planned. Embaby #1 stuck and we were elated, but it wasn’t meant to be. We had to have a D&C at 9 weeks. Dr Kee was shocked, with no explanation why this failed.

We were referred to Melbourne specialist Dr Nick Lolatgis for more investigations. With those results making our situation a little complicated, we signed up for full immune protocol and specialised immunotherapy treatments in conjunction with IVF, hoping our dreams would come true.

With only one embryo left, we started further IVF cycles to try to ‘bank’ embryo’s. Cycle three & four were cancelled due to illness and poor response.  In December, cycle five resulted in six eggs retrieved, only one fertilised, by day five it was deteriorating and we were told it had not survived.

We decided to transfer our last embryo and had our day five transfer on December 14th. By Christmas I was nauseous and getting excited. By New Years I could NOT handle the heat!

Come our week 7 scan, I’d already been so nauseous and it seemed no surprise to Dr Kee when he told us we were having TWINS!! Amongst the nausea, vomiting, extreme fatigue, lightheadedness and weight loss, we were bloody stoked. It was back and forth to the Gold Coast for treatments. I picked some nursery furniture. We joked about managing two at once.

How lucky could we be? Our last embryo and we were having identical twins!

Grace & Kate

Friday 25th Jul
Grace and Kate should have been joining us earthside in August. Instead, Brendan reminds me they got to go straight to heaven, and now we have four angels watching over us.

In August, I’m walking 3km a day to save little lives and support grieving families. You can join our team and start walking in August, support us with a donation, or support us with your encouragement.

This is ‘For Grace & Kate’. 🩷🩷
