Im fundraising in memory of our lil princess Georgia Lee

An insight into why I'll be walking 3 km every day in August. For those who dont know the back story.

In October 2009, we welcomed our beautiful princess, Georgia Lee Woodhouse, into the world. She was bright, bubbly, and had a way of capturing everyone's heart wherever she went. Her big brother, Joseph, absolutely adored her and was so proud to show off his little sister.

Joseph had wanted a BBQ so everyone could meet her and he could show her off, but sadly, that day never came.

On 13 January 2010, our precious princess was taken from us in her sleep. It was the most numbing, heartbreaking pain I have ever experienced.

At the time, Joseph was in Melbourne on a school holiday camp with two of his cousins. They were flown home without knowing why. Having to tell a 7½-year-old that his little princess was gone was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

Joseph did get one of his wishes, though—the BBQ. After Georgia's funeral, we held a BBQ to celebrate her beautiful little life. The love and support we received during that time is something we will never forget, and many of those people are still close to our hearts today.

The loss of a child is a pain like no other. It never truly goes away. You simply learn how to carry it. A song, a smell, a date on the calendar, or a simple memory can bring it all flooding back in an instant.

So that's why I'm walking.

Throughout August, I'll be walking 3 km every day in memory of our precious angel, Georgia Lee. Whether I raise donations or not, I know that every step I take is for her. It's my way of honouring her life, keeping her memory alive, and remembering that she will always be loved, always be missed, and always be our little princess. 💜👑
