My challenge is in honour of Artie Lawrence Dennis
For my son, Artie 🤍
In the days leading up to Artie’s birth, everything appeared to be progressing normally. We attended a routine appointment on Wednesday and were reassured that our baby boy was healthy and doing well.
The following day, I noticed a significant reduction in his movements and trusted my instincts by seeking medical advice. It was then that we received the devastating news that no parent ever expects to hear — our precious son, Artie, no longer had a heartbeat.
On 12 June 2026 at 6:31pm, we welcomed Artie Lawrence Dennis into the world. He weighed 8lb 11oz, measured 54cm long, and was absolutely perfect. Although we never got to bring him home, he will forever be our much-loved son and a cherished part of our family.
As we have begun navigating this unimaginable loss, we have learned that every day, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia. Some families only get minutes or days with their precious little ones, and others like us never get to hear their baby’s first cry.
No family should have to walk this road alone.
In honour of our beautiful Artie, I am taking on the Red, Set, Go Challenge this August to support Red Nose. Every dollar raised will help fund vital research to save little lives and provide counselling and support to families facing the devastation of losing a precious baby or child.
Artie changed our lives forever. While we can’t change what happened to our son, we hope that by sharing his story and supporting this cause, we can honour his life and help other families through theirs.
