Red Nose Day 2026 đź”´

This year, I am fundraising for Red Nose Australia.

As most of you know, I lost my 2-year-old son Jackson on the 14th of June, 2020.

We found him in his cot.

It was the single most horrible experience of our lives. That moment, and the hours and days that followed, are still deeply embedded in my memory in a way that doesn’t fade with time.
Jackson’s autopsy report came back as “natural causes.” But when you are faced with the loss of a healthy, happy two-year-old, that phrase doesn’t bring comfort or answers. It only brings more questions.

What 2-year-old dies of “natural causes”?

In the years that followed, we did what any parent would do when faced with the unthinkable—we kept searching for answers. We met with cardiologists and professors at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, who guided us with compassion and care through some of the most difficult conversations imaginable.

With their support, I applied to the Coroner’s Court of New South Wales to have Jackson’s DNA sent for further testing at Randwick. That application was approved. We held onto hope that maybe, just maybe, we would finally understand why.

The results came back with nothing.

And once again, we were left with heartbreak—and no clear answers.

The team at Randwick encouraged us to keep going. They explained that medical research is always evolving, that new discoveries are being made all the time, and that one day, answers may still come for families like ours.

That message has stayed with me.

Because even without answers for Jackson today, research is what creates answers for tomorrow.

That is why this year I am fundraising for Red Nose Australia.

Red Nose provides critical funding for medical research into sudden and unexplained child death, as well as education programs and grief support for families who are living through the unimaginable. They walk alongside families at their most broken, and they also invest in the science that may one day prevent another family from experiencing this kind of loss.

If Jackson’s story can contribute in any way—if sharing it can help even one step closer to answers, prevention, or support for another family—I have to believe it matters.

So I’m asking for your help.

Please consider donating to Red Nose, sharing this fundraiser, or simply keeping Jackson’s name and story in your heart.

Every contribution supports research. Every donation supports families. Every action helps push forward the understanding we so desperately need.

Thank you for reading, for remembering Jackson with me, and for supporting the work that Red Nose continues to do.

In memory of precious little Jackson. He made such a big impact in so little time and will continue to do so. If one dollar could help prevent just one family from this heart ache I would donate a million of them x
