I’m fundraising to save little lives this August!

Every day in Australia, nine precious babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly.
Some families are gifted only moments, mere minutes or fleeting days with their beloved little ones. Others never get the chance to hear their baby cry, see them open their eyes, or feel the warmth of their breath.

My story ...
18 years ago, after becoming critically unwell from severe pregnancy complications, an ultrasound confirmed what no parent should ever hear. My son's heart had stopped beating. I would be induced, and would go through labour, knowing it would end not with a cry, but with silence. There is no pain like it. Giving birth to a child you will never get to raise breaks something inside you that never truly mends. I held my son in my arms. I searched his tiny face, desperately hoping for a breath, a sound, anything. But there was only stillness.

𝓐𝓷𝓭 𝓲𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓵𝓵𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓼, 𝓶𝔂 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓽 𝓼𝓱𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓭.
𝓘𝓽 𝓼𝓱𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼 𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓲𝓷, 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂 𝓽𝓲𝓶𝓮 𝓘 𝓻𝓮𝓶𝓮𝓶𝓫𝓮𝓻.

No parent should ever have to endure the loss of a baby, no matter the gestation, no matter the circumstances. That’s why this August, I’m taking part in the 𝐑𝐄𝐃, 𝐒𝐄𝐓, 𝐆𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄 (𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟑𝐤𝐦 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐲), to honour my beautiful son, to stand beside families who know this heartbreak, and to help prevent other parents from ever having to experience it.

Your support can make a real and lasting difference.
Funds raised will go toward life-saving research, vital counselling services, and compassionate care for families navigating the unimaginable.

Please, if you can, donate today. Help light the way forward for the little lives we've lost, and for the families who carry their memory every single day.

My Updates

31/8 Final Run!

Sunday 31st Aug
This morning was the final run. My calves survived ... just! This challenge has felt endless. It was very difficult at the start emotionally since it brought so many things to the surface for me. However, it's amazing the difference a month can make. I feel I am in a completely different place from where I was at the start. I'm looking forward to giving my calves a rest, then maintaining some of these runs as a new healthy habit.

Thank you SO MUCH to all my supporters!

30/8 Tired Body!

Sunday 31st Aug
The runs have become easier in some aspects, but for the last week, my calves have started to really get over it! Lucky the challenge is almost over, I don't think my calves have too many kms left in them!

29/8 So Cold!

Sunday 31st Aug
Can not believe how cold the weather is in SA at the moment! I came back from Bali so tanned and now I am running in hail again!

28/8 Back to Reality!

Sunday 31st Aug
Running on Australian soil again! It was a very tired run that I had no motivation at all to do!

27/8 Paradise Calls!

Thursday 28th Aug
Woke up at sunrise and ran 3km through along the road past rice fields and a local village. The scenery was beautiful! Made it back in time to join the morning yoga!

26/8 Final Beach Run!

Thursday 28th Aug
Final beach run before we venture out to Ubud for a couple of days!

25/8 Holidays and Hangovers!

Thursday 28th Aug
Slightly too many cocktails by the pool and/or a bit dehydrated so was feeling a little average when I took on the morning run!
Absolutely loving the running vibe over here though!

24/8 Humidity Adjustment!

Thursday 28th Aug
Another morning beach run. Loving the warmer weather, but the humidity not so much!

23/8 Bali Beach Run!

Thursday 28th Aug
First morning in Bali for our girls trip and still got up early to go for the run! Afterwards went straight for an iced latte to offset the heat!

22/8 Pre-Flight Run!

Thursday 28th Aug
Knowing I had to leave home at 3am to catch the early flight to Bali, my only option was to wake up at 1:30am and do it before I left for the airport!

21/8 Sunrise Runnner!

Thursday 21st Aug
So much to do after work, so took advantage of another sunrise run.

20/8 Bring on Spring!

Thursday 21st Aug
Lunch time run today while the weather was amazing!

19/8 Morning Vibe!

Tuesday 19th Aug
To avoid having to run after Uni again, thought it would be easier to get up and do the run before work, even though it meant I got less than 5 hours sleep!

18/8 Assessments and PBs!

Tuesday 19th Aug
Turns out you run even faster when you get home from Uni and only have a 3 hour window to do your run and submit an assessment before the midnight deadline!

17/8 Rail, Hail, or Shine!

Monday 18th Aug
Thought I was venturing out on my run during a clear weather break, but instead I ended up running in hail in the first 500m. First time running in hail, so can tick that off the bucket list!

16/8 Early Riser!

Monday 18th Aug
Ventured off on this run before the clock hit 5AM. Interesting how different the birds sound this hour of the morning compared to sunrise!

15/8 Halfway!

Friday 15th Aug
Hit the halfway point of the challenge!!

14/8 Morning Run!

Thursday 14th Aug
Dealing with some things today, so needed to get the run out of the way ASAP to clear the mental load. It was a slow run as I spent the whole run talking on the phone to one of my besties!

13/8 New PB!

Thursday 14th Aug
I was really happy with my run tonight. I got a new fastest 1km (5.27 min/km) record for this month, and I also ran the whole 3km with an average pace under 6min/km. To be honest, I was hungry and really wanted dinner. I think I need to keep using food to motivate me!

12/8 Binge Eating and Running!

Wednesday 13th Aug
A valuable lesson learnt tonight. Never mix binge eating and running. You end fighting a massive stitch for the entire run and your speed reduces to an average of 8 min/km pace!

11/8 Sunrise Run!

Tuesday 12th Aug
The only opportunity I had to run today was before work, so I set the alarm earlier and ventured out at sunrise. It was the most beautiful morning.

10/8 Casual Run!

Tuesday 12th Aug
Slowed the pace down today to take in the surroundings and enjoy the process!

9/8 Getting Faster!

Tuesday 12th Aug
I'm not sure if I ran faster because I was excited to go watch Freo play at the Adelaide Oval or if I am just getting a little bit faster naturally? I think definitely the first one!

8/8 Recovery Run!

Saturday 9th Aug
Today was another one of those days where running was the last thing I wanted to do or fit into my day! I took it slow and remembered to go easy on myself. I am still trying my best and ultimately, that is all that matters.

7/8 Team Spirit!

Saturday 9th Aug
Today Rasool from our engineering department joined me for a run in our lunch break! I am very lucky to work with an amazing group of people Heart

6/8 Lunch Run!

Wednesday 6th Aug
Took advantage of a slight break in the weather and got the run out of the way in case I don't get another chance after Uni tonight!

5/8 Struggle Run!

Wednesday 6th Aug
I'm hoping this challenge gets easier physically and emotionally ❤️‍🩹

4/8 Night Runner!

Monday 4th Aug
Tonight's run was the last thing I wanted to do. After a long day of work, then uni, I didn't get home until after 8. But I pushed through and found the motivation anyway. Pretty sure I only ran faster tonight because I knew there would be food at the end of it!

3/8 Nice Day for a Run!

Sunday 3rd Aug
May the sun keep shining and the blue skies stay for our runs. Gentle reminders that every storm passes, and brighter days always return!

2/8 Tiny Angel - Live!

Sunday 3rd Aug
Last night during the 360 concert, he played the song 'Tiny Angel'. I was hoping he wouldn't because I've never been able to hear the song in its entirety and being so close to the stage I had to stay and listen. That was a deeply emotional and difficult experience, yet somehow, still a beautiful experience. Unfortunately, I did let my emotions overrule and I drank more than I planned to. As such, I was very unwell for the most part of today. However, I somehow found the motivation to push through and got the entire 3km run completed, although the pace was less than desirable and I felt even worse afterwards! 1/8 First Run!

Friday 1st Aug
Few records here this morning - woke up early to exercise (opposed to hitting snooze 10 times!) and completed 1 of the kms in 5:45 mins. Feeling like I am off to a good start. Hopefully most days feel this good!
