In Memory of Matthew

This August, I'm walking in memory of our son, Matthew.

Matthew was diagnosed with a life-limiting condition at 20 weeks, and at 22 weeks he was born peacefully.

Although his life was far too short, he changed ours forever. We miss him every day, and we carry him with us in everything we do.

I'm taking on this challenge to honour Matthew, to support families facing pregnancy and infant loss, and to help make sure no family has to walk this path alone. Every kilometre I walk is for him.

This page started because of one little boy.

Matthew.

If you've seen me lately, you've probably noticed the little gold pendant I wear every day. It holds a tiny amount of Matthew's ashes, and I haven't taken it off since I first put it on.

He's with me on every walk.

Every kilometre this month has been for him.

While I wish more than anything that Matthew was here instead, I hope his life can still make a difference. Every donation to this fundraiser helps families facing the unimaginable access support and grief counselling when they need it most.

One of the reasons I wanted to do this challenge was because I wanted people to know that Matthew mattered. He'll always be our son, and his story didn't end the day we had to say goodbye.

Thank you for helping us honour his life in such a meaningful way. Every donation, every share and every step helps carry his memory forward and supports other families walking a path no one should ever have to walk. 🤍
