We're fundraising to save little lives this August!
Every day across Australia, nine babies and young
children die suddenly and unexpectedly — whether through stillbirth, SIDS, or
other tragedies. That equates to 3000 babies every year.
On the 22nd of December last year, our baby boy Marley, became one
of those nine, when he was born still and our world changed forever.
Since that day, my family and I have leaned heavily on the
incredible support of Red Nose Australia. Their bereavement support
workers, 24/7 volunteer-run phone line, counselling services and online support
groups have been nothing short of lifesaving. They’ve been by our side from the
moment we left the hospital with empty arms and continue to help us navigate
life six months on.
That’s why this August, I’ve committed to walking or running 3km every day as part of the “Red, Set, Go” Challenge. I’m doing this to raise vital funds for Red Nose Australia — to help fund research and to ensure other grief-stricken families like mine receive the practical and emotional support they so desperately need.
If anyone would like to join us in participating in the
challenge, accompany us on a walk, or has the means to donate to the cause – I
would be so grateful.
