Walking for the Little Lives Gone Too Soon
Throughout August, I’m taking on the Red, Set, Go Challenge and committing to walking every day to support Red Nose Day — for the babies and children gone too soon, and the mothers and families who carry their loss every day. ❤️
Every day in Australia, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly. Behind every number is a deeply loved little life and a family whose world has changed forever.
I know many incredible women and families who have experienced the most unimaginable loss. Now that I have Tova, my beautiful five-month-old baby boy, it’s difficult to fathom what they have been through. Becoming a mum has given me an entirely new appreciation for the strength it takes to continue moving forward after losing a child.
If getting out of my comfort zone and walking every day throughout August can help raise awareness and funds for families navigating such a difficult season, it is the very least I can do.
Donations help fund vital research aimed at saving little lives, as well as counselling, comfort, resources and ongoing support for families affected by the loss of a pregnancy, baby or child.
Every day that I walk, I’ll be thinking of the little lives who were deeply loved, the families currently going through incredibly difficult times, and those who continue to carry their loss with them.
I’ll remind myself how extraordinarily lucky I am to have my baby boy waiting for me at home, while recognising the mentally, emotionally and physically strong women in my life who have endured one of the hardest experiences imaginable.
Thank you for your support, encouragement and any donations along the way. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps fund research and support families when they need it most. ❤️👣
I’ll be walking every day in August — for the little lives gone too soon, and for the families who will love and remember them forever.
