I’m fundraising to save little lives this August!

Every day, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia. Some families only get minutes or days with their precious little ones. Others never get to see their child take their first breath.

I am one of those parents.

My son was stillborn at 42 weeks. No warning. No explanation. Just a silence where there should have been a cry. I have carried that loss every single day since, alongside the love I have for him that has never dimmed.

Last week, the last physical things I had of him — his lock of hair, his hand and footprints, precious photos from the day he was born — were lost in a fire. All I have left now is one sketch of his face.

But what I will always have, and what no fire can ever take, is him. And the knowledge that other families are walking this same unbearable road right now.

That's why I'm taking on the Red Nose Ready Set Go Walkathon this August — to raise funds for vital research that will save little lives, and to support families experiencing the devastation of losing a precious baby or child.

If you can spare anything at all, please donate. Not just for my son. But for every parent who has stood where I have stood, in that terrible silence.

Thank you. 🧡
