For Summer, my daughter whose first cry I never got to hear

Every day, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia.

My partner and I experienced this firsthand early this year and it is something no one should ever have to go through. We were beyond excited to learn we had a baby girl on the way, our 3 year old son was also excited to be a big brother to his baby sister. Unfortunately complications arose and summer was born sleeping Feb 11 this year.

Losing Summer has been the hardest thing we’ve ever faced. The grief is something we continue to carry every day but we have also experienced the incredible support that exists for families going through this.

I will be taking part in the Red Nose 3km a day challenge to honour Summer’s memory, raise awareness and help support other families who are on the same horrible journey of grief we’re on.

There is no expectation to donate by just getting on to this page and reading this I feel I’ve achieved my goal. If you do want to donate that’s much appreciated too.
