I'm fundraising for babies like Robin Ralph who get their wings too soon

Every day, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia.

Stories speak louder than stats, so I’d like to share the story of one such beautiful baby that was born with wings before his time, Robin Ralph. And his amazing mum Ash, who managed not only to keep on living somehow, each hour, each day, but to live and breathe Robin’s legacy every day that has followed through fundraising and spreading awareness for others experiencing the unfathomable loss of a child.

After 2 earlier miscarriages, I was in bed holding my beautiful newborn rainbow baby Billie when I learned that Ash, my dear friend who I had shared the mothering journey of our firstborns with, and who was due just 9 days after me, had suffered a sudden placental abruption that nearly took her life, and tragically left Robin without oxygen for too long. Her perfect, full term, much loved baby boy was born without a heartbeat.

No words can ever speak to her unimaginable loss. Not a day since then have I not thought of her and Robin. She has waded through the deepest, darkest hollows of grief with such incredible grace, strength, courage and kindness. All the while being the most extraordinary mother to her now 4 year old daughter Rory. She says it’s organisations like Red Nose that have helped carry her through.

She is a hero.

Ash shares her story for Red Cross here:

I want to do something more than think of Robin, and support parents like Ash that have experienced this unimaginable heartbreak.

Please donate to my fundraiser now and you’ll help fund vital research that will save little lives – and provide counselling and support to families that have experienced the devastation of losing a precious baby or child.

I hope you’ll support me with a kind donation today, and help make the world a bright place for the little lives and their families that need it most.
