My challenge is in memory of Kaitlyn
I’m fundraising to save little lives this August!
Every day, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia.
Some families only get minutes or days with their precious little ones. Others never get to see their child take their first breath.
I want to support parents that have experienced this unimaginable heartbreak, and raise funds to help save little lives – that’s why I’m taking on the Red, Set, Go Challenge this August!

This year I am running/walking 93km in Memory of my baby cousin Kaitlyn who sadly passed away from Necrotizing Enterocolitis, a life threatening illness where harmful bacteria causes inflammation and tissue death in a baby’s intestines. It most often affects premature infants during their first few weeks of life. Unfortunately Kaitlyn only survived for 5 weeks after being born on the 23rd April 2008.
My beautiful Aunty, Anna, had to grieve the loss of Kaitlyn with no one to turn to professionally. She only got sent a letter in the mail from the hospital and was made to go to an appointment a few days after losing Kaitlyn… she was made to sit in a room full of crying babies knowing that she would never get to hold hers again. She has never truly healed and still grieves to this day. I now know that it is time for a change and to help parents who are also dealing with the loss of their babies.
Every dollar goes towards this wonderful foundation and I would appreciate your help. Even if it is $1, it still counts.

Great cause, please help Ida to achieve her goal. No-one should have to suffer the loss of a child the heartache stays with you forever. I have and am still personally dealing with this every day. I am the mother of Kaitlyn. RIP my beautiful darling daughter.
