Every day, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia.Some families only get minutes or days with their precious little ones. Others never get to see their child take their first breath.
I want to support parents that have experienced this unimaginable heartbreak, and raise funds to help save little lives – that’s why I’m taking on the Red, Set, Go Challenge this August!

A little background - Part 1
Friday 31st JulThe first time I heard the term “cot death”, I was 6 years old. It was 1979 and my Aunty Joan had triplet boys. Two of the boys needed some extended time in the Special Care Unit but Aaron, he was doing pretty well and so returned earlier to Aunty Joan in their room, she was able to spend a lot of precious moments with him in his short time earthbound. The boys Aaron, Phillip annd Michael all went home to be with Joan and Uncle Merv, plus the older siblings Nicola and Steven. The family all but doubled.
At 35 days old, Aaron unfortunately passed away from SIDS. I remember crying a lot for my little cousin, and everyone being incredibly sad, but I really didn’t understand what had happened, but that precious wee boy left a very lasting impression on me.
The official name may have changed but in all those years, the pain and devastation that SIDS causes remains the same for anyone unfortunate enough to live this nightmare.
