Remembering Savannah Yulissa Koo

Hello everyone, thank you for visiting my page and considering a donation to such a vital organization. I'm June, and I want to share why I'm fundraising for the Red Nose Foundation.
The thought of a parent outliving their child is, to me, the ultimate tragedy. Yet, countless parents face this heartbreaking reality every day. I've witnessed this profound grief firsthand, through friends who have endured miscarriages, stillbirths, and the devastating loss of a child.
More than two years ago, between Christmas and Boxing Day, my dear friend Serene and her beautiful family experienced an unimaginable loss: their daughter, Savannah Yulissa Koo (March 5, 2021 - December 26, 2022), passed away in her sleep. The pain of witnessing such a tragedy is indescribable; to experience it is beyond comprehension. I hope to never again attend the funeral of a child or see a lifeless body in a tiny coffin. The heartbreak is immense, and I can only imagine the depth of the family's suffering.
Savannah's death was categorized as SUDC (Sudden Unexpected Death of a Child), meaning there was no identifiable cause. In the agonizing weeks and months that followed, the Red Nose Foundation provided Serene and her family with crucial support through grief counseling and support groups.
If you're able to make a small financial contribution, I would be incredibly grateful. Your donation will help Red Nose continue to offer this vital support to other grieving families. Even if you're unable to donate, thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and allowing me to share this important mission with you.
Serene once told me her greatest fear is that people will stop thinking of Savvy, stop talking about her, stop remembering her. So, let us remember Savannah Yulissa Koo, and the short, precious time she spent on this Earth. Your parents hold onto the hope of seeing you again because of their faith in Jesus.
"Stunningly beautiful... and I immediately fell in love."
"If I had to think of Savvy on her own, these would be her three greatest loves - The first was music. Even as a tiny baby, Savvy would go to sleep on my chest ... as I sang her nursery rhymes. Savvys second greatest love was the playground - before she could even walk every time she saw me putting on a pair of shoes she would find her own shoes... not to be left out of any park adventures. She would even find mommy's shoes too, so mommy wouln't be left out. Her third greatest love was collecting and carrying small items... Savvy would try to hold as many as she could in her arms."
"She was pure, innocent and joyful. Too pure for this increasingly broken world."
- Jason Koo, father to Savannah Koo.
"You loved shoes. You are the most kind hearted person I have ever met, you love sharing.... so, so pure. All the girls who watch Frozen wanted to be Elsa, but you were happy to be Anna when Siena told you you were Anna. You were humble, and willing to let others have the limelight... You encourage all of us to be braver."
- Serene Koo, mother to Savannah Koo.
We're fundraising to save little lives this August!

Every day, nine babies and children are lost suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia.
Some families only get minutes or days with their precious little ones. Others never get to see their child take their first breath.
We want to support parents that have experienced this unimaginable heartbreak, and raise funds to help save little lives – that’s why we're taking on the Red, Set, Go Challenge this August!
Donate to our fundraiser now and you’ll help fund vital research that will save little lives – and provide counselling and support to families that have experienced the devastation of losing a precious baby or child.
We hope you’ll support us with a kind donation today, and help make the world a bright place for the little lives and their families that need it most.
