Fundraising in honour of Amara 💜✨️
On March 25th this year our beautiful daughter Amara was born. She never took a breath, and our whole world fell apart in an instant - on the same day we became parents, we also had to say goodbye. We never pictured this would be our reality, but every day, nine babies and children die suddenly or unexpectedly in Australia. Absolutely heartbreaking.
Since losing Amara, we have been so grateful for the support of Red Nose. We were referred to their 'Hospital to Home' program and were matched with a lived experience Bereavement Support Worker. On meeting her I felt such a sense of relief - not just that she understood what we were going through, but also seeing her happy & doing well gave me hope that one day we could be happy again too. I've also attended Red Nose's social events for bereaved parents, and it has meant so much to connect with other loss Mums, to feel understood, and develop beautiful friendships with people who just get it. I really couldn't be more grateful for the work Red Nose does.
That's why we are fundraising for Red Nose this August: taking big steps to help save little lives, by funding research, plus ensuring the support we received at the lowest point in our life is there for future bereaved parents.
